Normandie – flache Wasser, reiche Natur

The Cotentin and Bessin Marshes in Normandy are extensive wetlands of swamps and polders – reclaimed, flat tongues of land. The landscape is flooded in winter and dried up in summer, and is a sanctuary for migratory birds, a vast reservoir of biodiversity. But the ecosystem is weakened by the droughts and heavy rains of recent years.
